Hello,

Thank you for your email. I understand your concerns with their process. Loan Depot has insurable interest on your property and per the policy are required to be included on all payments when the estimate exceeds $10,000 for your claim.

Usually the final payment issued once the work is complete and we receive the final invoice, does not include the mortgagee as a payee on the check.

Please see attached, the estimate and payment letter that were previously provided to you.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for trusting Liberty Mutual with all your insurance needs.

Regards,

Taylor Guishard-Drummond

Good morning Taylor,
Quick status. Loan Depot has a very exhaustive checklist for endorsing checks:

  * Endorse the back of the check by all payees listed on the check.
  * Write your loan number in the memo section on the front of your check.
  * Gather all the pages of your insurance adjuster's report
  * Provide a copy of the insurance adjuster's estimate listing the identified damages and the amount covered by your insurance company.
  * Sign the enclosed Owner's Affidavit.

  * Provide a copy of the signed contract between you and the contractor listing:

  1. All the repairs that will be performed
  2. The total cost to complete the repairs
  3. The estimated time required to complete the repairs
  4. Repairs must be completed by a licensed contractor
  5. Provide a signed W-9 form from your contractor
  6. Contractor's license and proof of insurance.

I'm sure you're fully aware of this procedure; just flagging it so that maybe future payments can fold everything into this once approach, or will you continue to issue checks with Loan Depot? Is it helpful to get you in touch with Loan Depot to flag any of this or clear it in advance?
Lastly, would you be okay with providing us with the most "up-to-date" insurance adjuster's estimate that lists the identified damages and the amount covered by your insurance?
Best, Dan
