How ChipDrop works
- Homeowner signs up with address + tip amount ($20 typical; higher tips = priority).
- Local arborists doing nearby tree jobs see signed-up addresses on a map.
- When an arborist has a load of fresh chips and your address is nearby, they pick yours instead of paying dump fees — typically a 4-20 cubic yard dump-truck load.
- Driver delivers — usually no advance notice, sometimes a day's heads-up via email.
- Tip is paid via the ChipDrop platform (credit card on file).
Trade-offs to know: can't choose chip type (whatever the arborist was working on — pine, oak, maple, mixed); can't predict timing (might take weeks); can't decline a delivery once tipped (must accept the load when it arrives).

Notable contradiction: arborist's own comment on the unsuccessful drop reads "This is a great drop site. Everything went well. Thanks for using ChipDrop." — the success-status mismatch is worth flagging to ChipDrop support if this becomes a pattern (drop may actually have been successful with system misclassification).

Account-address data quality flag: Every drop receipt shows the address as 6279 Greenhill Rd, Doylestown PA 18902 — but the property is in New Hope PA 18938. The misconfiguration goes back to the very first drop (April 2024). Drivers have always found the property anyway (GPS coords are presumably correct), but worth fixing in ChipDrop account settings before a future driver gets misdirected.
